Housing

Hello Everyone!

Great news- I have arranged for my housing in Eisenstadt. The building has a dorm-like atmosphere, with many students of the nearby technical college living there. The people there have reserved a 1-room apartment for me in the building. It is a brand new building, looks like it has a fun atmosphere, and has very reasonable prices. Check out the link (click on the title of this entry) and you can see pictures of it!

A stroke of luck...

I just ran into one of my German teachers, Baerbel Such. She is here for the summer teaching the 100 level courses, and agreed to help me translate the letter tomorrow. I am so glad that she is still here! Hopefully everything will go smoothly and all of my documents will be in the mail ASAP. :)

Residency Documents

I've spent the past week getting together my documents for my Austrian residency application. Unfortunately, my computer has decided to stop working, and it had the German translation of my police-record letter. Essentially, the letter states that I have never been arrested before. This is required by the Austrian government for anyone applying for residency. I left my computer with a friend who knows how to work on these things, and hopefully he will be able to recover the letter. If he doesn't have any luck with that... I'll be emailing the text to all of my former German professors and asking for their help!! Hopefully I can get everything together and send it to the Fulbright commission by wednesday...
Wish me luck!
